Nodo Side table
Nodo
The third table in the collection of artefacts continues the dialogue set by Artefact No 1 and Artefact No 2. Though small in scale, it carries the same refined presence, balancing mass and lightness in a single composition. A monolithic stone pillar anchors the structure, intersected by a steel disc that extends outward, supported by a single, slender leg. The design emerged from a pursuit of reduction — to create a functional object with as few elements as possible, without compromising stability or expression.
This table is a study in simplicity. Extended from the stone pillar, the leg appears to defy gravity as it holds the steel surface in perfect balance. The tension between mass and weightlessness gives it a quiet sense of movement — stable yet dynamic, restrained yet expressive.
The contrast between the geological depth of diabase and the sharp precision of steel creates a composition that feels both grounded and effortless. Though undeniably heavy, its presence is light. More than a side table, it is a distilled exploration of balance, materiality, and form — a reduction that feels instinctive in its surroundings.
